Don and Judith's Alpine Lake News

Don and I are now back from our lovely winter visit to Florida and looking forward to warmer weather here at Alpine Lake. Every so often we get lovely warm, sunny days that tease us with the promise of playing golf, working in the garden, taking long walks and watching life return to nature. However, as is often the case here in the Allegheny Mountains, we get doses of reality, and we have to put up with the occasional snow, cold rain and persistent wind. Ah, well. I have plenty of work to do inside, including getting my website completed (see post about where to purchase my art) and producing more artwork.

I'm very pleased to report that our ALPOA Board of Directors, of which I'm a member, is working productively and effectively to continue the many necessary improvements to our community and its amenities. Please visit Alpine Lake's newly revised and updated website, www.alpinelake.com, and take a look at all of the information it provides. There's lots on there about our community, its activities and the services it provides.

I welcome all comments, whether it is about ALPOA Board of Directors activities or those having to do with my art work. Please do let me know what is on your mind. I especially appreciate constructive suggestions about our property owner's association and about my art. I look forward to hearing from you.

Galleries & places to see my art

Along with showing my art work at the Garrett County Arts Council Gallery on Alder St in Oakland, and at the newly refurbished Rhododendrun room at the Alpine Lake Lodge, you can now see (and buy) my paintings, prints and rock critters at the Bayer Necessities Convenience Store, just outside of the Alpine Lake security gate. Bob and Kay have been enthusiastic about accepting consignment work, and it's great to have so much available to my patrons so close to our home.

Also, my new website is nearing completion. On this site, www.judithbeckerart.com, I'll be showing some of my artwork which can be purchased through PayPal. In addition, I'll also be sharing stories which inspired some of the art work. Please do check out the sight and watch it grow. There is even a 'blog' capability where you can make comments and ask questions.
